Odes to Ooze

Odes to Ooze: Performing the Science of Ecosystems is an interdisciplinary outdoor performance at the University of Minnesota that combines ecosystem research, Traditional Ecological Knowledge, theater, dance, puppetry, and storytelling.

This project marked Ella’s first experience working as an intern with Mindtwist Studios, where she documented the production through cinematography. Most of the documentary footage was captured by Ella before being edited by the Mindtwist team. She also created an installation video that became part of the live performance, providing an early opportunity to combine filmmaking with immersive artistic experiences. She also made a video highlighting a poem created for the show, “Isaiah’s Poem”.

The project became an important foundation for developing documentary filmmaking skills while exploring the intersection of science, art, and ecology.
